Africa UP Close

The Africa Program and the Project on Leadership and Building State Capacity launch new blog - join the discussion today!

Africa UP Close is an initiative of the Africa Program and the Project on Leadership and Building State Capacity at The Wilson Center. The new blog provides a forum where perspectives on issues affecting Africa are developed and exchanged to promote partnership and create positive change on the continent. Each month features pieces by experts from Africa, informed scholars and practitioners working on issues affecting Africa, and a Last Word from Program Director Steve McDonald. It also features pertinent news stories, recent papers and information on related events occurring throughout Washington, DC.

Follow us and become part of a community where ideas can be shared, key issues can be defined, partnerships can be formed, innovative solutions can be fostered, and, most importantly, where African “voices” will be heard.

The views found in blog posts are solely of the authors and do not reflect that of The Wilson Center. Africa UP Close is made possible by the generous support of the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
