Choice Reviews CWIHP Book Series "The Soviet Cuban Missile Crisis"

Choice: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries reviewed "The Soviet Cuban Missile Crisis: Castro, Mikoyan, Kennedy, Khrushchev, and the Missiles of November," part of the CWIHP Book Series. Written by Sergo Mikoyan, who served as his father's personal secretary during his travels, and edited by Svetlana Savranskaya, this book explores the immediate aftermath of the Cuban Missile Crisis. It draws upon secret diplomatic transcripts to tell the story of an abandoned plan to leave tactical nuclear weapons behind on the Caribbean island, and the contentious negotiations the led to that decision.
