Comparative Research on Government Organization and Operation, 2009 Washington Symposium

The Kissinger Institute and the Counselors' Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China (PRC) held a joint symposium to explore and compare governance topics in both the People's Republic of China and the United States.

WASHINGTON-The Kissinger Institute on China and the United States (KICUS) and the Counselors' Office of the State Council (COSC) held the first of two three-day symposia in Washington October 14-16, 2009. The Cooperative Research on Government Organization and Operation Symposium addressed a range of topics including the formation and implementation of national security, economic, crisis management, and science policy. Invited American experts and specialists from the Counselors' Office made presentations on each subject from the perspective of their country, followed by general discussion. Distinguished guests of KICUS and COSC attended the sessions.

KICUS also arranged for the Chinese delegation to meet with relevant federal government officials:
