Comparative Research on Government Organization and Operation, 2010 Sanya Symposium

The Kissinger Institute and the Counselors' Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China (PRC) held a joint symposium to explore and compare government organization and operation in both the PRC and the United States.

The second symposium of the Kissinger Institute on China and the United States (KICUS) and the Counselors' Office of the State Council (COSC) took place January 19-22, 2010. The first two days of the symposium took place in Sanya, Hainan followed by a day in Shenzhen, Guangdong. The Cooperative Research on Government Organization and Operation Symposium included the following topics: super ministries and institutional reform, US federalism and center-provincial relations, budget formulation and implementation, and corruption prevention.

In Shenzhen, the delegations met with local government officials and business leaders:
