Latin American Program in the News: Navarro says that Chavez will win with voting "close to or above 54%"

Senator Alejandro Navarro said that he estimates that Hugo Chávez will have “a clear victory close to or above 54%” in the presidential elections in Venezuela, which will take place this Sunday.[Spanish]

Navarro dice que la victoria de Chávez será con votación “cercana o superior a un 54%”

...aseveró que aquellos que han intentado caricaturizar el proceso electoral de Venezuela, “sin duda desconocen lo expresado por el analista chileno, el democratacristiano Genaro Arriagada, ex embajador en Washington, quien en un informe elaborado para el Wilson Center de Estados Unidos en conjunto con el ex presidente del Instituto Federal Electoral de México, señala respecto del sistema electoral venezolano que ‘tiene innegables fortalezas y es tecnológicamente muy avanzado. Funcionando ade¬cuadamente asegura la transparencia de elementos fun¬damentales para el control y vigilancia de los procesos electorales por partidos, ciudadanos y observadores’”.
