With the support of the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund and United Nations Development Programme, the Leadership Project has recently re-launched its leadership training program in Liberia. The Leadership team will focus on building trust and collaborative capacity between key Liberian leaders including ministers and legislators, as well as regional and civil society leaders, in a series of country-based workshops over the next 14 months. From July 9 through July 22, Leadership team members conducted an assessment mission and met with many key leaders, including President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, to help identify critical divisions hampering effective governance. The first training workshop will take place in October 2009.
