México tiene grandes oportunidades en Asia, Europa, Brasil y Centroamérica, por lo que debe posicionarse en estas regiones, dijo Andrew Selee, director del Woodrow Wilson Center´s, Washington.

Al participar en el Foro Internacional IMEF 2012 donde habló sobre “El Nuevo Panorama Económico y el Futuro del Poder Global”, el experto estadounidense dijo que México ya está vinculado al bloque de Norteamérica, pero ahora debe mirar hacia otras regiones del mundo.

“México ha tenido un crecimiento paulatino, pero estable. Está muy bien posicionado. Tiene una población más o menos educada y con una clase media más amplia de lo que tenía hace 15 o 20 años”, indicó.

No obstante, dijo que es necesario un mayor esfuerzo para mejorar la educación primaria, secundaria y a nivel de posgrado.

“México ha pasado del lugar séptimo al noveno en naciones que más estudiantes envían a EU para hacer un posgrado, mientras que países como China, India, Singapur y Malasia envían más estudiantes”.

Incluso, mencionó que Brasil se está acercando a México en esta materia, por lo que este es un reto para el país.
