Release of Report on the Future of the Río Grande Basin by Environmental Defense and Mexico Institute available online

Sep 30, 2004

A report issued today by Environmental Defense and the Mexico Institute at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars finds that significant government investment in agricultural water conservation will be necessary to ensure there is enough water to meet future needs in the transboundary Río Grande basin that lies along the U.S.-Mexican border. The report is based on the results of a May 2004 conference involving agricultural experts from both the U.S. and Mexico.
