Steve McDonald Discusses Secretary Clinton's Africa Tour

During Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's 11-day, seven-country trip across Africa, Africa Program Consulting Director Steve McDonald examined the tour's significance on Voice of America's Encounter program.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is currently on an 11-day trip across Africa, visiting seven countries: Kenya, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Liberia, Angola, and Cape Verde. During the tour, she plans to address opportunities for economic partnership, U.S. commitment to engagement with Africa, new trade opportunities and the importance of good governance with leaders across the continent.

Africa Program Consulting Director Steve McDonald appeared on Encounter on Voice of America to discuss Clinton's trip and its implications for U.S.-Africa policy with former U.S. Ambassador David Shinn and host Carol Castiel.
