Mona Miskram-Ebeid is a former Public Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center and Professor of Political Science at American University in Cairo.

Few countries inhabit the imagination of the world as vividly as does Egypt. This is largely because of the rich past of pharaohs and pyramids that influenced so much of classical civilization. Yet, Egypt is also a modern country with modern problems. Mona Miskram-Ebeid, one of Egypt's leading women politicians and scholars, paint a portrait of the problems and prospects of today's Egypt.
