How is the Wilson Center funded?
Since 1968, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars has been a model for the successful implementation of a public/private partnership. As the official memorial to President Wilson, Congress supports the Wilson Center through an annual appropriation; however, 70 percent of the annual operating budget must be raised from private sources to ensure the Center's continued role in "the dialogue of democracy."

Former News Anchor Ted Koppel Addresses Wilson Center's Board and Council
On June 1, journalists Ted Koppel and Sam Donaldson had a lively exchange about politics and economics at the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Board and Council dinner. Donaldson, a former ABC News anchor and correspondent who currently serves as Wilson Council president, interviewed Ted Koppel, former anchor and managing editor of ABC News Nightline, on the Obama administration’s record so far, fiscal responsibility, and the likely future of America’s political parties.

 | WilsonAlliances, the Center's corporate membership program, provides a unique way for the business community to interact with the policy community at the Wilson Center. Privileges includes VIP access to meetings and events, private events with leading international business and political figures, and use of the Center's facilities in the heart of Washington, D.C.

Nearly 150 individual members of the Wilson Council, the Center's private-sector advisory board, provide leadership and funding to further the Center's mission. Under the direction of veteran newsman Sam Donaldson, the Council brings together members from around the world who believe in open dialogue, international understanding, and non-partisan public policy.
 | The Woodrow Wilson Awards honor world leaders who share President Wilson's vision of improving society through innovation, dialogue, and service. Awardees are nominated by the Center's Board of Trustees for both Public Service and Corporate Citizenship and are honored not in Washington, but in their hometowns.
