Opening Reception for "Global Underground" Art Exhibit

The Kennan Institute is pleased to announce that the Wilson Center will host an art exhibit during the month of April titled "Global Underground" by noted visual artists Valera and Natasha Cherkashin. This exhibit is an installment of their timeless project that includes 33 countries and examines the internationally shared cultural qualities of the subway. The installation showcases a virtual representation of the Moscow, Stockholm, Beijing, Paris, New York, and Washington, D.C. metro systems. The exhibit is sponsored by the Kennan Institute and Swiss International Airlines.

The "Global Underground" exhibit will be on the 4th Floor of the Wilson Center, and there will be an opening reception on Friday, April 4 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. The exhibit will run from April 4 to May 9, 2008.
