Mexico Institute Re-Launches Security Cooperation Portal
The Woodrow Wilson Center’s Mexico Institute is deeply saddened by the violence that this weekend took the lives of dozens of Mexicans and, for the first time, of Americans connected to the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez. In keeping with the Mexico Institute’s goal to promote greater understanding between our two countries, today we re-launch our Security Cooperation Portal, covering joint efforts to confront organized crime and to strengthen the rule of law in the United States and Mexico.

New Research and Conference Program on Contemporary Asian Studies
The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars are partnering to launch a major national research and conference program. The program will select a premier group of National Asia Research Associates and Fellows, nominated by U.S. research organizations and higher learning institutions with top programs on Asia.

Two Democracies: Defining the Essence of India-U.S. Partnership
The India-U.S. relationship is one with "boundless possibilities for mutual benefit," according to Her Excellency Nirupama Rao. The Wilson Center recently hosted Rao, India's foreign secretary, at a Director's Forum co-sponsored by the Asia Program and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Mexico Public Policy Scholars Program 2010 Announcement
The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations (COMEXI) are pleased to announce the seventh year of the Mexico Public Policy Scholars Program. The objective of the Program is to allow a period of advanced research and a publication about political policy, in order to bring together the academic and policy communities in the United States and in Mexico.
Two scholarships are available, one for the summer period of July 1 to August 27, 2010 and the other for the fall period of September 7-December 23, 2010; both based at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C.
The application deadline is April 23, 2010.

The Elephant at Sea: India's Maritime Strategy
In the next decade, India plans to introduce 40 new warships and 400 new aircraft to its naval forces. Such efforts reflect a dramatic maritime transformation now underway in India—one meant to improve India’s power projection capabilities at sea and to produce a blue-water navy. On March 9, the Asia Program co-hosted an event on India's maritime strategy and growing maritime power.
