Biography
Lauren Herzer is the Program Assistant for the Comparative Urban Studies Project at the Woodrow Wilson Center. Prior to serving at the Wilson Center, Lauren completed a Masters degree in Environmental Security and Peace at the United Nations mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica. From 2003 to 2005, Lauren worked as a Peace Corps volunteer in Bulgaria where she taught English in a local elementary school, worked with a group of colleagues to develop a leadership camp for teenage Bulgarian boys, served on a committee of volunteers overseeing small grant proposal applications, and applied for and was granted a USAID grant to renovate the local schoolyard. Lauren also served as a Crisis Corps volunteer with the Peace Corps and FEMA in New Orleans directly following Hurricane Katrina. She has a BA in History from UCLA.
