Our main goals are to:

  • Provide the political and business community in Washington with a better understanding of the causes, implications and future perspectives of the Argentine crisis.
  • Renew trust among different interest groups and bring together networks of public policy experts to discuss and debate Argentine policy issues.
  • Contribute to better and more efficient public policies by the creation and dissemination of concrete proposals.

Activities
To these ends, Argentina @ The Wilson Center organizes four different kinds of activities: conferences and seminars, working groups, virtual forums and publications.

Conferences and Seminars
These events bring together prominent experts to discuss their views and perspectives on Argentina’s political, social, economic and financial situation. These conferences are open to the public and some are transmitted live to Buenos Aires, Argentina by tele-conference.

Working Groups
The working groups bring together an heterogeneous group of academics, politicians, entrepreneurs, and civil society representatives.
These meetings are intended to rebuild trust among diverse sectors in society by promoting the search for a shared diagnosis and a common design of solutions regarding Argentina’s political, economic and social situation.

Publications
Argentina @ the Wilson Center produces summaries, bulletins and opinion pieces which aim to create a steady and constant flow of information. These publications are sent to institutions, organizations and people interested and involved with the country’s situation in Washington and Argentina.

Virtual Forum
This is a non-partisan space that informs about the different proposals related to public policy issues in Argentina. This online forum posts online the opinions of leading academics and policy practitioners about the problems that confront Argentina today.

More specifically, the virtual forum focuses on views stated by political parties, academics, NGOs and the private sector regarding the public policy areas of poverty, security, economic development, foreign affairs, political reform, governance, public health and education.
