Paulo Sotero Marques Named New Director of Brazil Institute

The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars announces that Brazilian journalist Paulo Sotero Marques will join the Center on September 18, 2006, as the director of the Brazil Institute.

The Latin American Program of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and the Ford Foundation are pleased to announce that the second round of the competition for "Junior Scholars in the Study of Democracy in Latin America" is officially closed and the winners have been selected. Ruy Mesquita, director of the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo, received the Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service, and Mauricio Botelho, CEO of Embraer, the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship.
