This year, the Wilson Center honored Viktor F. Vekselberg with the Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service and Patricia M. Cloherty with the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship. Both awardees have dedicated significant parts of their careers to strengthening relations between the United States and Russia.

On November 15, Professor Anatoli Mikhailov, one of the leading personalities fighting for democracy in Belarus, will be awarded the Ion Ratiu Democracy Lecture Award at the Wilson Center. His lecture is entitled, "Democracy as a Challenge". This event is open to the public.
