The Council of Women World Leaders is currently seeking interns to support the programming efforts and administrative needs of the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the nonprofit sector to contribute to the goals of the Council and learn about women in leadership positions. Please note:  these opportunities are unpaid internships

Intern Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of programs, meetings, events and other special projects;
  • Updating and managing contact databases;
  • Administrative tasks as needed;
  • Supporting the Council’s outreach and communications operations;
  • Assisting with content management of website;
  • Supporting Council staff as requested;
  • Conducting research, writing and/or copy editing papers for publication;
  • Other tasks as may be assigned.

Successful applicants should: 1) have strong research and/or administrative skills; 2) be detail-oriented; 3) be able to work independently and collectively as part of group; 4) possess the ability to synthesize research and analyze information; 5) have strong interpersonal communication, writing, and editing skills; 6) have an excellent command of Microsoft Office Software (to include WORD, EXCEL, PUBLISHER, and OUTLOOK); and, be currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program, a recent graduate (within the last year), and/or have been accepted to enter an advanced degree program.

Please submit applications by October 15 for Spring; March 15 for Summer; and July 15 for Fall.  Only top applicants will be contacted for interviews.

Hours and Location:  We ask for a minimum commitment of 15 - 20 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months. The Wilson Center/Council is located in the Ronald Reagan Building at 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.
