Youth and Conflict: Challenges and Opportunities for Peace-Building

This publication is the result of a half-day conference held at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars on May 17, 2006, and hosted by the Wilson Center’s Project on Leadership and Building State Capacity in collaboration with the Peacebuilding and Development Institute (PDI) of American University. The conference was the culminating event of a two-day Youth and Conflict workshop that took place at American University on May 15 and 16, 2006. The conference stimulated discussion between scholars, policymakers, practitioners and youth advocates on current efforts to effectively engage youth in peace-building in countries affected by conflict.
