Amy M. Wilkinson is a public policy scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and senior fellow in the Center for Business and Government at Harvard University. Fascinated by how leaders must reinvent their approaches to excel in an entrepreneurial age, she is writing a book on global entrepreneurship forthcoming from Simon and Schuster.
Previously, Ms. Wilkinson served in the White House Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) as a senior policy advisor and White House fellow. Working with the cabinet-ranked USTR, she outlined U.S.-China trade policy, coordinated congressional passage of the Central America Free Trade Agreement, and helped negotiate the Panama, Peru, and Colombia trade agreements.
An experienced international business executive, she joined the White House from McKinsey & Company, where she advised corporate clients on strategy and implementation. Prior to McKinsey, she was an investment banker in J.P. Morgan’s Latin America mergers and acquisitions team and founder and CEO of an international art-export company. Ms. Wilkinson began her career as chief of protocol for the U.S. Embassy in Mexico.
Ms. Wilkinson’s media and speaking appearances include the FOX News, Fox & Friends, ABC-Channel 8 News, the Economist Innovation Summit, Federal Reserve Board of Governors, International Council of Small Business, Business and Government Relations Council, Harvard University, MIT, Stanford University, among other venues. Her articles have appeared in The Economist, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Washington Post, and USA Today among other publications.
She holds a BA, MA, and MBA from Stanford University and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

The policy briefing provided an opportunity for Chairman Bernanke and the Governors to meet with a select group of policy experts who participated in the November Board hosted conference entitled “Small Business and Entrepreneurship during an Economic Recovery”. Led by Amy Wilkinson, these experts provided the Governors with a perspective on the role of small businesses in the current economic recovery and the forward-looking policies that support and reward entrepreneurship.
