The Sexual Revolution in Russia
Nov 01, 1992
Dec 01, 1992

Project Summary

An analysis of the sexual revolution in the context of an environment of general social and moral crisis. Kon studied the influx of pornography as coupled with the lack of sex education and sex research, concluding that the sex revolution was in dire need of attention so that realistic sexual politics might emerge and allow for international projects. His short term grant primarily set the foundation for this work, while studying the pre-1917 climate, analyzing the 20s, the counter-revolution of the 30s-40s and the gradual changes throughout the 60s and 70s. His project also researched the themes of sexual revolution in a sociological/anthropological context.
