archivally-driven history of the Join Agricultural Corporation of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish colonization movement to southern Ukraine and Crimea in the 1920s and 1930s. Assessment of the interaction between the Soviet regime, the Jewish settlers, the American sponsors and administrators, and the position of the United States government.
