Project Summary

This study focuses on three transforming moments in Estonian history: Estonia’s modernization of housing after independence from the Russian Empire in 1918; Soviet appropriation and subsequent collectivization of housing after 1940; and housing after privatization in 1991. Explores architecutre as a product of government policies and cultural values.
