Dr. Richard Feinberg is professor of international political economy at the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies, University of California, San Diego. He is also a nonresident Senior Fellow of Foreign Policy with the Latin America Initiative of the Brookings Institution. Feinberg served as special assistant to President Clinton and senior director of the National Security Council’s Office of Inter-American Affairs. He has held positions on the State Department's policy planning staff and worked as an international economist in the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of International Affairs. Feinberg holds a B.A. from Brown University and Ph.D. in international economics from Stanford University.
