Project Summary

study of agrarian history in the Volga region, looking at the Russian village in the 20th century. His grant made use of the peasant specialists in the West (J Scott, Renfield, Shanin, M Lewin, S Merl, etc). For comparitive purposes, Kondrashin made use of work on the agricultural history of the United States, Latin America and Asia.
