Jane
Holl is the Executive Director of the Carnegie Commission on Preventing Deadly
Conflict, a program of the Carnegie Corporation of New York. Prior to joining
Carnegie, Holl served as Director for European Affairs on the National Security
Council staff under both President Bush and President Clinton and was directly
involved in the decision making process in conflicts in Bosnia, North Ireland,
and Cyprus. Holl was a career officer in the U.S. Army and served on General
Schwarzkopf's staff during the Gulf War addressing war termination issues. She
retired from the Army in 1994. Holl holds a Ph.D. in political science from
Stanford University.
