“Guerra contra las drogas”: la de ellos bien, la de nosotros mal

Por su parte las drogas sintéticas se perfilan como un negocio promisorio, pues tienen márgenes de ganancia superiores a los de cualquier otro tipo de droga. Las autoridades operan a ciegas, sin la capacidad técnica suficiente para regular las sustancias químicas precursoras, y se sabe muy poco de cómo funciona o quién maneja este mercado.

Bajo estas circunstancias parece razonable hacer una pausa y quitarse por un momento la etiqueta del “éxito”. Necesitamos volver la mirada hacia adentro y volcar la atención hacia nosotros mismos, para redefinir la política y estrategias ante “el problema de las drogas”.

El desafío ha cambiado y ya no es sostenible mantener el monólogo sobre la lucha frontal contra la producción y tráfico de cocaína. El primer paso: aceptar que tenemos un problema; el segundo: entender que las recetas actuales no son las apropiadas. Acabar la guerra siempre será una buena opción.
