On May 17, 2018, Africa Program Director Dr. Monde Muyangwa attended the Africa Leadership Forum, “Africa in the Global Peace and Security Architecture,” organized by the UONGOZI Leadership Institute. Held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, former Presidents H.E. Benjamin Mkapa of Tanzania, H.E. Thabo Mbeki of South Africa, and H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia gathered with about forty high-level experts and leaders in African peace and security to advance the discussion on Africa’s place in the global security framework.

Dr. Muyangwa participated in the forum, which examined Africa’s role in the global security architecture. This event was a follow-up discussion to the African Leadership Forum 2017, hosted by the UONGOZI Leadership Institute in Johannesburg, South Africa. Leaders engaged in an open discussion on topics such as the security situations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Federal Republic of Somalia.
