The editor of the China Environment Series is welcoming proposals for feature articles (20-30 pages double spaced) and commentaries (3-5 pages double spaced) for the lucky Issue 8 (ba ba ba, fa fa fa) due out in the summer of 2006.
I. Feature article themes of particular interest include:
• Public participation in the environmental sphere in China (e.g., examples of successful projects, challenges, opportunities, and policy options)
• Energy (e.g., domestic energy challenges or global impact of China's growing energy demand)
• Environment/heath nexus (e.g., indoor air pollution, avian flu, pig-borne disease, SARS, naturally occurring pollutants threatening human health)
Authors wishing to propose other articles relating to environmental and energy issues in China, or how these issues impact the U.S. or the world, should not hesitate to submit a proposal.
II. For the Commentaries/Notes from the Field section we welcome any topic relating to environmental or energy issues in China, Hong Kong, or Taiwan, but are particularly interested in the issues of public participation and environmental health (see issues 4-7 for examples of previous commentaries). Commentaries based on current field research or on-the-ground projects are also of particular interest.
Proposals for feature articles and commentaries are due by 3 October 2005.
Please email abstracts of less than 250 words to Jennifer L. Turner at firstname.lastname@example.org or fax to 202-691-4184.
Authors will be given style guidelines after proposals are accepted. Final drafts of commentaries will be due 1 December 2005. Feature articles will be due 15 December 2005.
