International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, pursues its dual missions of reducing poverty and increasing shared prosperity by promoting private sector development through investment and advisory services. IFC looking to recruit an experienced operations officer to help implement various E&RE programs, including the China Water Program.
China Water Program is assisting selected water-intensive industries reduce their demand for freshwater and address business risks due to increasing water scarcity in China. The first phase of this program has successfully developed several demonstration projects in the textile dyeing and printing sector and is currently focusing on scale-up activities for greater developmental impact. The Program combines firm-level REF audits and sector-level awareness raising and capacity building activities to catalyze project financing and implementation. This includes projects that reduce water and energy usage in upstream manufacturing operations as well as end-of-pipe wastewater treatment and recycle projects. The Program is also building capacity of local partner banks for industrial water-efficiency financing by providing targeted training.
