Director, President, and CEO Jane Harman to Participate in White House Energy Security Forum

Today at 10 a.m. Woodrow Wilson Center Director, President, and CEO Jane Harman will join U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman, and other security and energy experts on a panel discussion on the national security implications of America's oil dependency. The forum will highlight the ongoing collaboration between the Departments of Energy and Defense and the important role clean energy research and technologies are playing in reducing our dependence on oil and protecting U.S. armed forces.

On Tuesday, April 26 at 10 a.m. Woodrow Wilson Center Director, President, and CEO Jane Harman will join U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman, and other security and energy experts on a panel discussion on the national security implications of America's oil dependency. The forum will highlight the ongoing collaboration between the Departments of Energy and Defense and the important role clean energy research and technologies are playing in reducing our dependence on oil and protecting U.S. armed forces.

Harman and Deputy Secretaries Lynn and Poneman will be joined on the panel by MIT Professor and former Deputy Secretary of Defense John Deutch and John Podesta, President of the Center for American Progress. The forum, which will bring together military and national security officials, business leaders, clean energy investors, academics and others, will be moderated by Brooke Anderson, Chief of Staff and Counselor of the National Security Staff at the White House.
