Minister Jean-François Lisée Leads First Mission to Washington and visits the Wilson Center
The Minister of International Relations, la Francophonie and External Trade (MRIFCE), and the Minister responsible for the Montréal region, Mr. Jean-François Lisée, lead his first mission to Washington on December 11-12. Minister Lisée held several roundtable discussions, most notably at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, where he spoke on the importance of consolidating the economic relationship between Québec and the United States with various business leaders and academics in Washington.

The visit provided Minister Lisée with the opportunity to present the priorities of the Québec government to his numerous American interlocutors and to remind them of the importance that the Québec government accords to its relations with the United States.
The Minister met with several influent leaders in Washington in sectors of interest to Québec, including Representative Edward J. Markey, a leader in Congress on renewable energy. Additionally, Mr. Lisée met with Representative Bill Owens as well as the Canadian Ambassador Mr. Gary Doer.
