Monde Muyangwa Presents at the Inaugural Wilson Forum

On October 18, 2017, Dr. Monde Muyangwa, Director of the Wilson Center Africa Program, participated in the Wilson Forum on U.S. and China’s Engagement with Africa.

On October 18, 2017, Africa Program Director Monde Muyangwa and three other Wilson Center Program Directors presented on Global Views on U.S.-China Competition. The panel was a part of the inaugural Wilson Forum, which convened policymakers, military officials, and corporate leaders along with prominent scholars to discuss the future of U.S.-China relations. Dr. Muyangwa discussed the nature of China’s current and historic engagement in Africa including its strategic interests in access to resources, investment in African infrastructure, diplomatic cooperation, and security presence. Dr. Muyangwa also addressed African responses to both Chinese and American modes of engagement.
