NKIDP Document Reader Featured by Dong-a Ilbo

NKIDP is pleased to announce that its latest Document Reader, New Evidence on Inter-Korean Relations, 1971-1972, was recently the focus of a Dong-a Ilbo article entitled "N. Korea Informed Twice of 1972 State of Emergency."

The article highlights new findings contained in the East German, Bulgarian, Romanian, and South Korean documents which comprise the reader.

Among the most compelling new information are findings concerning the Park Chung-hee administration informing the North of its dissolution of Parliament and declaration of a state of emergency, as well as insight into the North's motives behind pursuing peaceful reunification.
