Estados Unidos puede avanzar hacia la regulación de la portación y compraventa de armas de fuego durante la segunda Administración del Presidente Barack Obama, de acuerdo con especialistas. El Mandatario tiene que nombrar al menos un juez de la Suprema Corte de Justicia y existe la posibilidad de que elija a uno liberal para impulsar medidas que limiten el derecho a portar armas sin tener que pasar por el Congreso, que mantiene una mayoría republicana, lo que hace casi imposible aprobar una iniciativa que apunte a la regulación, además de que buena parte de los representantes demócratas también respaldan este derecho.
