Wilson Center Welcomes New Director of Marketing and <i>dialogue</i> Host

The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars welcomes the arrival of John Milewski, the new director of marketing and host of dialogue, the Center's radio and television program.

The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars welcomes the arrival of John Milewski, the new director of marketing and host of dialogue, the Center's radio and television program. Milewski brings over 20 years of experience in top broadcast journalism positions, broadcasting shows through the cable network C-SPAN and Washington's Newseum. In addition to his experience as a journalist, Milewski is also an accomplished manager, having served as Vice President for Outreach and Communications for the Close Up Foundation, where he was a member of the leadership team responsible for budget and policy planning and many successful fund raising activities.

For 20 years Milewski worked with the Close Up Foundation as executive producer, moderator, and managing editor of Close Up on C-SPAN (1986–2006). During his tenure at Close Up, he negotiated and managed editorial and production partnerships with USA TODAY, The Freedom Forum & Newseum, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, the Center on Congress at Indiana University, the American Bar Association's Division for Public Education, and the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery. In 2006, he served as interim producer of C-SPAN's After Words, the flagship program of the Book TV lineup.

Milewski was part of the team that opened the new Newseum in April 2008, co-creating the Reel Journalism with Nick Clooney series and serving as one of the hosts for the interview program Inside Media. He is co-creator, co-writer, and co-producer of the Wana Initiative on Conflict and Cultural Dialogue's flagship program, Waziristan to Washington: A Muslim at the Crossroads and has been an executive producer, managing editor, and correspondent for a series of award-winning documentaries. Milewski is currently also a regularly featured blogger for the Huffington Post.
