Amy Goldstein, Class of 2013

Former Public Policy Fellow Amy Goldstein's book Janesville: An American Story has been awarded one of the "50 Notable Works of Fiction in 2017" by the Washington Post; her work is included among the New York Times "100 Notable Books of 2017" and is the winner of the "Financial Times and McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award" for 2017. 

Goldstein worked on this book while a public policy fellow in 2013. Goldstein's book is  a poignant account of how the people of Janesville, Wisconsin, reacted to the closure of their local General Motors plant. Goldstein is a Pulitzer Prize-winning staff writer for the Washington Post, where she writes nationally about social policy issues.
