Overview

Through dozens of interviews, new archival findings, and the help of several diplomats present during the negotiations, the ACRS Oral History Project brings back to life the series of mulitlateral meetings throughout the 1990s. The ACRS Oral History Project, supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and co-organized by the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies and the Nuclear Proliferation International History Project, features dozens of interviews with representatives from nearly every participating nation as well as hundreds of newly available documents from US archives and the personal papers of Mike Yaffe, an American diplomat present for many of the meetings. The project culminates in a Critical Oral History Conference held virtually by the CNS and NPIHP. For the final GMES of the Fall 2021 semester, Hanna Notte and Chen Kane present their findings and try to explain just went wrong with the working groups.
