Overview

On August 26, the Afghan capital of Kabul was rocked by a bomb blast that killed dozens. The attack, perpetrated by Islamic State-Khorasan, which has carried out many attacks in Afghanistan and elsewhere in the region, underscores the threat of terrorism in Afghanistan and broader South Asia after the US withdrawal. The Wilson Center is rebroadcasting an earlier event, the latest one in its Afghanistan: Hindsight Up Front initiative, about the implications of the Afghanistan withdrawal for South Asia.
