CANCELLED: Puntland State of Somalia: A Presidential Briefing

June 24, 2009 // 10:00am11:30am

Unfortunately due to last minute unforeseen circumstances, the president has had to cancel his speech at today's event. We apologize profusely for this inconvenience. This is a highly irregular circumstance, and one that we hope will not repeat itself. Again, we do apologize for this situation and hope you will join us at future Africa Program events.

The Africa Program at the Wilson Center and the Horn of Africa Policy Institute are pleased to invite you to a discussion with H.E. Abdirahman Mohamud Farole, President of Puntland State of Somalia. He will give a short presentation on recent developments in Puntland, the situation in Somalia, piracy off the coast of Somalia, the increasing Islamic militancy in Central and Southern Somalia, and then accept questions from the audience. Mr. Abdul Ahmed III from the Horn of Africa Policy Institute will give a brief introduction
