The Third Plenum: What Happened and What Does It All Mean? (In Chinese/中文)

The highly anticipated Third Plenum of the 18th Party Congress has ended with the release of a communique and decision document outlining China’s policy direction for the next decade. Please join us November 19 as Mr. Li Bin, Economic Counselor at the Chinese Embassy helps us navigate the Third Plenum in a discussion at the Wilson Center. Please Note: This event will be conducted in Chinese. Interpretation will not be provided.

Overview

The highly anticipated Third Plenum of the 18th Party Congress has ended with the release of a communique and decision document outlining China’s policy direction for the next decade.   

Please join us for a discussion (in Chinese) with Mr. Li Bin, the Chinese Embassy's Economic Counselor on the outcomes of the Third Plenum. 

This event is a collaboration between the Kissinger Institute and the American Mandarin Society.

About Li Bin

Li Bin joined the State Development Planning Commission (SDPC, now the National Development and Reform Commission) and started working in the Department of Foreign Affairs of the SDPC in 1989. In 2003, Mr. Li served as the Deputy Director General of the department. Before that he was Deputy Division Chief in 1994 and Division Chief in 1999. Mr. Li was in charge of American affairs, European affairs, and multilateral affairs during the past 10 years. He is especially familiar with China-US economic cooperation and the US companies operating in China. In July 2011, Mr. Li was assigned as the Counselor for Economic Affairs of Chinese Embassy in the US.
