Progress in the War in Afghanistan: Seven Centers of Gravity

On Friday, March 4th the Wilson Center on the Hill hosted a discussion on the recent developments in the war in Afghanistan, the implementation of the Obama war strategy, and the important policy challenges leading up to the proposed 2014 NATO troop withdrawal.

The Division of International Security Studies addresses fundamental Wilsonian concerns affecting international order and U.S. national interests through its research, meetings, and publications. The Division focuses on the traditional security agenda in the transformed politico-military context of the post-9/11 era. It sponsors ongoing programmatic activities on the threats posed by terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, as well as on the “nexus” between these twin challenges.
