Zainah Anwar is the founding member and former Executive Director of Sisters in Islam (SIS), a non-governmental organization at the forefront of the women’s movement which seeks to end discrimination against women in the name of religion. Anwar also serves as the Director of Musawah, A Global Movement for Equality and Justice in the Muslim Family. She is currently a Social Entrepreneur in Residence at Stanford Law School with the Stanford Center on Democracy, Development and Rule of Law's Program on Human Rights.
