    Full Biography

    Juexuan Lu is a Ph.D. candidate in the Cold War History Center at East China Normal University, working under the supervision of Professor Zhi Liang. Additionally at Shanghai International Studies University, she works as a Vietnamese language instructor. Juexuan is very comfortable with Vietnamese and has a strong interest in the history of the Second Republic of South Vietnam, which serves as the topic of her dissertation, “The Political and diplomatic relationship between south Vietnam and the U.S. during the Nixon administration.” Utilizing both Vietnamese and American archival records, her dissertation will examine President Nguyen Van Thieu and his government’s reaction to American troop withdrawals from Vietnam and the Paris Peace Accords.
