Full Biography
Rachel Scalisi is currently the graduate research intern at the Mexico Institute working directly for Andrew Rudman, and she has been in this role since summer 2021.
She received a B.A. in International Relations at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs in 2020, and is currently on track to graduate in December 2021 with a M.A. in International Relations with a regional concentration on Latin America and the Caribbean
Rachel’s research and studies primarily center around issues of migration, refugees and asylum seekers, and immigration policy between and within Latin America and the United States.
During her undergraduate studies, Rachel was an intern for the office of U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E Schumer.
Rachel is bilingual in English and Spanish and spent almost two years living abroad in the Dominican Republic.
