Full Biography

Valeria Moy is General Director of IMCO (Instituto Mexicano para la Competitividad), a think-tank that studies economic and social phenomena that affect Mexico's competitiveness. She was director of México, ¿cómo vamos?. She is an economist from ITAM, with a postgraduate degree from the London School of Economics. She has worked in Mexico's regulatory sector, in banking and securities regulation. In the academic sector, she has taught macroeconomics courses since 2001 at the undergraduate and master's level at ITAM. She also worked as a researcher for Harvard Business School. She is a weekly columnist for El Universal and El País and participates as a recurring analyst on television, radio, and national and international print publications. She has a weekly podcast on economic issues called Peras y Manzanas. Forbes has named her one of the 100 most powerful women in Mexico.
