On May 9-10, 2002, CWIHP participated in a conference on the interaction between American Detente and German Ostpolitik. The conference was hosted by the German Historical Institute, co-sponsored by CWIHP, Bundeskanzler-Willy-Brandt-Stiftung (Berlin), and the Parallel History Project on NATO and the Warsaw Pact.
