Roger-Mark De Souza was quoted alongside UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Robert Redford in an Inter-Press Service article on this year's climate talks in Paris. IPS turned to De Souza to learn more about how resilience should factor into the negotiations. "I am pleased to see the discussion of resilience at the high level discussion on climate change at the U.N. today," De Souza said, noting three key interventions that could bolster resilience and minimize climate fragility risks. "There can no longer be an expectation that global action or decisions will trickle down to create local results," said De Souza, "and this must be deliberately fostered and supported through foresight analysis, by engaging across the private sector, and through linking mitigation and adaptation policies and programmes."
