The health crisis afflicting Africa goes far beyond AIDS. All the countries of sub-Saharan Africa face mounting levels of traditional illnesses like malaria, tuberculosis and meningitis. Public and private sources of assistance will be needed to cope with this emergency. The panel discusses what can be done.
