Joan Biskupic is a journalist for USA Today covering the U.S. Supreme Court and is currently a Public Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center.

The Supreme Court was established in Article III of the United States Constitution. Since its inception, it has dealt with the most important "cases and controversies" affecting American society. This season, the court will consider truly landmark cases involving terrorism and the right of access to the U.S. judicial system. Journalist Joan Biskupic discusses the background and significance of these cases.
